Riding Ability:

We recommend beginner rider’s start with a Half Day Coaching Tour as off-road motorcycle and quad bike riding is a physical activity.
We have questions on our booking form to ensure you get to ride with riders of similar ability, meet wonderful like-minded adventure seekers and have the best possible off-road tour experience.The experienced dirt bike tour guides will select off-road trails to suit the ability and enjoyment of the tour group.

Motorcycle Licence:

Is not required for Off-Road Motorcycle & Quad Bike Tours.

Motorcycle Licence:

Required for Dualsport Adventure Ride Tours. Motorcycle licenses from other countries are accepted in New Zealand.

Bring Your Own Bike:

Yes, you can bring your own motorcycle on Adventure Trailrides Tours if it has a quiet spark arrestor muffler, good knobbly tyres and has been serviced. You will require your own bum bag tool kit and riding spares.

Motorcycle or Quad Bike Selection:

For beginner and novice riders it is important the bike fits the rider. Choose a motorcycle you can comfortably put your feet on the ground when seated. New Zealand terrain is hilly and rugged so a smaller, lighter off road dirt bike is best.

Condition Of Hire Motorcycles & Quad Bikes:

A maintenance and servicing programme is carried out on all Adventure Trailrides motorcycles and quad bikes.

Tyres:

A new rear tyre is fitted to all motorcycles at the start of all 5 Day Multi-Day Off Road Tours.

Protective Riding Gear, Motorcycle, Quad Bike Damage Responsibility:

It is the responsibility of the client as agreed in the terms and conditions to make payment for repair of damage.Damage is something that is broken or cannot perform intended function.

Flat Tyres:

The tour guide will repair flat tyres and there is no charge for this.

Accommodation:

We use tourist standard accommodation such as Farm Stays, Boutique B & B’s, Ski lodges, Historic Hotels and Motels.Rooms are twin share unless a request for upgrade is made.

Fuel & Oil:

If bringing your own bike ensure it has a full tank of fuel at the start of the tour and enough 2 stroke oil for the duration of the tour.We provide 95 octane fuel.
Protective Riding Gear: Supplied with bike hire and includes helmet, goggles, gloves, enduro jacket, mx trousers, elbow & knee pad’s plus MX boots.

What Should I Bring:

Day Tours a camera, x2 pairs of thick socks, camel back hydration backpack, thermal clothing top & bottom [winter], spare shirt.Multi Day Tours, small overnight bag with spare clothing, toiletries, x4 pairs woolen socks and x2 thermal clothing top & bottoms. We ride in snow in winter.

Where Do We Ride:

Adventure Trailrides has access to private farmland wilderness areas and is focused on maintaining a sustainable recreation.

Passing through Customs:

Ensure your riding gear has been thoroughly cleaned since your last ride.
